About the Owners

Patrick & Krista Gramens

Patrick  is  the  head  chef  and  baker  of  The  Rye  Berry.  He  dreamed  of  being  a  chef  since  childhood  and  always  knew  that  he  would  open  his  own  restaurant.  After  finishing  culinary  school,  he  worked  in  Baltimore  and  Washington  DC  at  several  major  restaurants  and  bakeries.  Krista  traveled  for  years  while  in  the  military  and  thereafter  working  in  International  Relations.  Cafés  and  bakeries  always  felt  like  a  place  of  refuge  to  her,  no  matter  the  country,  and  gave  her  a  great  appreciation  for  regional  foods,  coffee,  and  tea.  While  living  in  Washington  DC,  Patrick  and  Krista  decided  they  wanted  a  slower  pace  of  life,  closer  to  family.  They  moved  to  Hamilton,  NY and  shortly  after  had  their  first  child,  Kira.  These  combined  experiences  led  to  the  creation  of  The  Rye  Berry  Bakery  &  Café.
