We are a tiny team that is truly passionate about bread, coffee, community, artistry, and being part of the the burgeoning movement of high quality, small bakeries throughout the United States. Our mission is to provide our community with the highest quality retail breads in central New York and showcase them in our delicious full menu! We strive to be a place that families and friends can come to and know they will always leave happy and full.
Krista and Patrick own and operate The Rye Berry. Patrick is the head chef and baker and dreamed of being a chef since childhood. He always knew that he would open his own restaurant. After finishing culinary school, he worked in Baltimore and Washington DC at several major restaurants and bakeries. Krista traveled for years while in the military and thereafter working in International Relations. Cafés and bakeries always felt like a place of refuge to her, no matter the country, and gave her a great appreciation for regional cooking, coffee, and tea. While living in Washington DC, Patrick and Krista decided they wanted to focus on their growing family while combining their skills. They moved to Hamilton, NY and shortly after had their first child, Kira. These combined experiences led to the creation of The Rye Berry Bakery & Café.
